Position:Senior Process Safety Engineer, Saudi Kayan Petrochemical Company, Jubail, Saudi Arabia and Mx Student (2024-Present)
Mr Abdulrahman Batyour holds a Bachelor in Chemical Engineering from University of Arizona and works as Operation Engineer in Saudi Kayan Petrochemical Company. He is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Process Safety Engineering at KFUPM and conducting his master’s thesis under the supervision of Dr. Christos D. Argyropoulos as part of the CFD & HSE Simulation Research Group. His thesis is titled “Post-incident analysis of floating foof failures: Learning from global accidents to improve safety.” The aim of his research is to develop an effective post-incident analysis framework specifically for floating roof failures, which can be used to optimize safety efforts and help prevent similar accidents in the future. The study integrates technical investigation with lessons learned from global incidents to build a structured, practical approach for continuous safety improvement. Through this work, he hopes to contribute to strengthening risk management and enhancing process safety performance within the oil and petrochemical sector.
