Hamoud Alqahtani holds a Bachelor of Public Health, Environment and Occupational Health from Saudi Electronic University and serves as a Technical PHA & Safety Supervisor at Maaden Aluminum. He has over 13 years of professional experience in mining, chemical, and petrochemical industries, with strong expertise in process hazard analysis, risk assessment, and operational safety management. His technical background includes leading HAZOP, LOPA, and What-If studies, supporting pre-commissioning and commissioning safety, management of change (MOC), and incident investigation. His research interests focus on industrial process safety, consequence and dispersion modeling, occupational health and safety, and the application of computational tools to support risk-based decision making and public safety. He is currently pursuing a Master in Process Safety Engineering at the Department of Chemical Engineering, KFUPM and conducting his master’s thesis under the supervision of Dr. Christos D. Argyropoulos as part of the CFD & HSE Simulation Research Group. His thesis is titled “Enhancing Assurance of HAZOP Outcomes through Stage-Gate Reviews and Independent Verification.”
